Educating Youth on Mental Health

The Beacon Project is a student-led community service group that aims to present to middle and high school students across the Washoe County District in Reno, Nevada. We want to address the many concerns students face, like improper sleeping habits, bad time management, social media concerns, and more.

We’ve noticed throughout our years in elementary and middle school that adult guest speakers coming into the classroom to talk about mental health never seemed to engage the class. Founded by Rithik Rajesh, The Beacon Project would like to change this and transform mental health lessons into something fun but still informative.
